aPA 2025 Annual Convention Student Research & Discussion Submissions

Students!  

We are accepting proposals for original research posters, research symposia, and 5 minute data blitz research presentations, as well as brief  presentations (5-10 minutes) and panel discussants for our Alabama Psychological Association (aPA) Annual Convention.  The theme for this year's aPA Annual Convention is "The Future of Psychology".

The 2025 aPA Annual Convention will take place at the Hampton Inn and Suites located at 25518 Perdido Beach Blvd in Orange Beach, AL, riday, from Friday, 8/22/25 to Sunday, 8/24/25.  Student data blitz and oral presentations will take place between 12:30-1:30 pm on Friday 8/22/25 and the student poster session will be held the evening of Friday, 8/22/25 from 6-7:30pm during the aPA Annual Convention Welcome Session.    Submissions will be considered for inclusion in the program if they are received by the standard submission deadline. Submissions received after this date will be considered on a space-available basis.  Please reach out to Dr. Kristine Lokken/Kelley Durrance at president@alapsych.org and/or alapsychoffice@gmail.com if you anticipate needing an extension for the 6/27/25 deadline.

Proposals incorporating themes around The Future of Psychology are strongly encouraged!  

PARTICIPATION: aPA Student Members ($10 student membership fee) and Non-Members are welcome to submit a poster or presentation proposal for consideration. Note: For 2025, Student Membership fee of $10 will be waived to students who volunteer to be on an aPA Committee.  Student registration fee for the conference ($25) will be waived for all students who submit presentation proposals.  We strongly encourage students, early career psychologists, and faculty from colleges and universities to submit proposals and to be actively involved in the convention.
